Does Santa get grumpy?

I love that 25 Days of Bookmas is helping me find new favorites true! I am enjoying this process so much! I am so thankful for those of you that are taking this book filled journey with me!

One of my biggest pet peeves in the world is when people ask me why I am grumpy. I like to think I am never grumpy and that I am just little upset. The way I see myself when it comes to emotions is much like in the movie “Enchanted” when she realizes what feeling angry is like. I often feel like I only feel happy, pleasant, or quiet.

I read this story a few weeks ago while I was babysitting some sweet little girls. I love so so much when parents and children want to share books with me! It makes me feel so special! I read Are your Grumpy Santa Clause? by Gregg Spiridellis with a second grader and a preschooler. They have heard it several times and still found it so funny.

This is the story of Santa and nothing seems to be going well for him. He gets chased my a poodle, his suit shrinks, and all sorts of things go wrong! Finally he comes to a house and there is a card waiting for him. Under the card is a plate of cookies and suddenly everything changes for him. His day gets so so much better! I love this because it really shows that a lot of time all you need is one small thing and everything will be so much better!! I know for me when I am having a hard day I just need a small hug and I am usually great. In life the smallest thing can make the worlds biggest difference!

This book is out of print, but I have found a few copies on ebay! I know I personally really want on for my classroom!

Happy Holidays,
Ms. Cara
