Stay Focused Ms. Cara

Normally I try to be a very put together person, but I can not lie this past week was the least put together I have ever been. My boyfriend broke up with me, I totally lost my voice, and I was house sitting. Things just totally got out of hand and nothing seemed to be in balance at all. Last week I also was in college classes so I was unable to see my wonderful firsties. That made things a little harder.

This week I am staying focused. I am heading back to my first grade classroom and I am going to rock their little minds. Stay busy will help me feel better and it will also help their little minds learn so much.

My goals for the week…

1.
Work to start take over our phonics lessons. I would love for that to be my time with the kiddos.

2.
Show a little girl the new pencil I got to help her hold her pencil correctly. I am so obsessed with these new BIC pens and pencils for kids.

3.
Teach a math lesson. It is totally out of my comfort zone, but I know i need too and it was I am going to be teaching for my big final project.

4.
Plan my weekend class stuff so that i am not hurrying to get it done late on friday night.

5.
Stay focused and don’t let anything stop me from being the very very best teacher that I can be.

Sounds like a good plan to me if I do say so myself. Stay busy! Stay Focused! You can get through this.
I hope you all have great and productive weeks. Enjoy your kiddos and all of the fun that is going on in your classroom!

Happy Reading,

Ms. Cara

I just thought this was the sweetest things and it made me so sentimental for some reason so I felt the need to share it with you. Have a wonderful week with you littles. :)

Fly Guy is all the Buzz

I am working in a first grade classroom right now as I have said before. I love being with those kids and one of my favorite things is seeing how they read and what they are finding interesting. Recently I bought the Fly Guy set of books from the scholastic book order. This set is 11 books for $11. Thats an awesome deal and I love that they are written in a simple enough way that beginning readers love.
The Fly Guy books follow the adventures of a fly named Fly Guy and a boy named Buzz. Fly Guy is Buzz’s pet fly and they are also best friends. They have all sorts of adventures and solve many problems together as a team. Fly Guy is the best pet a boy could ask for.

I think these books are so fun to read aloud as well. Each book has a simple plot and characters that are fun and the readers care about. I have also found that students love anything written by the author Tedd Arnold. They love his simple illustrations and funny words.

My favorite book in the pack is Fly Guy Meets Fly Girl. This is a story where Fly Guy and Buzz go to the park and watch other people play with their pets. While there they meet a girl and her pet Fly Girl. The flies have a whirlwind romance. It is cute and the illustrations are very funny. I really enjoyed this book.

Using this is the classroom can be easy and fun. The fabulous teachers of teachers pay teachers have helped to make things fun and simple.

What are some of your favorite books to have in your classroom? What are your kids reading? Have a wonderful week!!
